There are currently multiple family planning bills, both domestic and international, awaiting action in Congress:

• Responsible Education About Life Act (REAL) S. 972/H.R. 1653-Currently, dangerous and inaccurate abstinence-only programs receive millions in taxpayer support. The REAL Act would guarantee federal money for comprehensive sex education programs in our schools.
• Access to Birth Control Act (ABC) S. 1555/H.R. 2596-In the past few years, reports of pharmacists refusing to dispense Plan B (the morning-after pill) and other forms of birth control have skyrocketed. The ABC Act would ensure women's timely access to their important prescribed medication.
• Global Democracy Promotion Act (GDPA) S. 1744/H.R. 619-The GDPA would repeal the Global Gag Rule, which refuses U.S. family planning assistance to foreign NGO's that use their own money to support abortion related counseling, legislation, or services.
• United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Women's Health and Dignity Act-Not yet introduced in the Senate/H.R. 2604-This bill would restore U.S. funding to UNFPA, which provides vital family planning assistance to women in developing countries.
